Stake.com to Withdraw from the UK Market Following UKGC Investigation

As per UKGC regulations, Stake’s UK site is expected to undergo a systematic closure process. Stake.uk.com will no longer hold a valid license starting in March, with the final shutdown scheduled for March 11, 2025.
Sponsorship Concerns
Additionally, the UKGC raised concerns about Stake’s existing sponsorship agreements within Great Britain, particularly their partnership with Everton FC in the English Premier League. The regulator plans to engage with Everton FC and other soccer clubs that have ties with unlicensed gambling entities to ensure that proper due diligence has been conducted on their white-label partners.
Clubs will be required to demonstrate effective measures to prevent British customers from accessing unlicensed gambling sites promoted by their partners. Failure to comply may result in legal consequences for club officials.
