Nevada Gaming Industry Sees Decline in Operator Revenue in February 2025
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) recently released its official financial report for February 2025, revealing a decrease in operator revenue and an increase in contributions to the state. The decline in revenue was attributed to weaker performance across various markets, with a significant drop in revenue observed in Vegas Strip casinos.

The statewide gaming win for February 2025 was reported at $1,217,662,484 by the NGCB. This figure indicated a 9.28% decrease compared to the same period in 2024 when operators reported a gaming win of $1,342,206,155. However, the year-to-date results showed a less drastic decline of 1.14% since the start of the fiscal year.
Further analysis revealed a notable decrease in baccarat gaming revenue across Nevada’s casinos, contributing to the overall suboptimal results. While most gaming verticals experienced declines, roulette gaming saw an increase in revenue.
Revenue Declines Across Nevada
The decline in revenue was not limited to a specific area in Nevada. Clark County, in particular, saw a 9.66% decrease in total February revenue, with a significant 13.78% drop in revenue reported across the Las Vegas Strip. Downtown Las Vegas revenue decreased by 4.91% year-on-year, while North Las Vegas and Boulder Strip also experienced declines.
Laughlin and Mesquite, however, reported modest revenue increases of 0.38% and 2.75%, respectively. Washoe County, on the other hand, saw revenue declines across Reno, Sparks, and North Lake Tahoe’s casinos, reporting a total revenue of $78.5 million for February, a 5.19% decrease compared to the previous year.
Elko County and Wendover both experienced revenue declines of around 7%, while South Lake Tahoe saw a significant 17.3% decrease in revenue. In contrast, the Carson Valley Area revenue remained relatively stable at $10.3 million.
Operator Contributions
In addition to the revenue figures, the NGCB also provided information on the percentage fees collected from operators in March. Nevada collected $75,205,984 in percentage fees, representing a 6.72% increase compared to the prior-year period based on taxable revenue generated in February 2025.
Overall, the Nevada gaming industry faced challenges in February 2025, with various factors contributing to the decline in operator revenue. Despite these challenges, the industry remains resilient, adapting to changing market conditions and working towards recovery.
