Michigan Gaming Control Board Cracks Down on Offshore Casino Operators
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) made a strong statement yesterday by taking decisive action against five offshore casino operators. These operators have been found to be in violation of state gambling laws and have been issued cease-and-desist letters by the MGCB.
Violation of State Laws
The MGCB, dedicated to safeguarding the local gambling market from unregulated online operators, identified five sites offering a range of unregulated casino games. These games include popular options such as slots, poker, blackjack, Keno, bingo, and sportsbooks for wagering on favorite sports.

Legal Consequences
The MGCB’s investigation revealed that these operators have violated multiple Michigan state laws, including the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, which mandates that only licensed casinos can offer iGaming in the state. Additionally, operators engaging in unlicensed gambling risk severe penalties under the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act.
Furthermore, the Michigan Penal Code prohibits gambling involving consideration, prize, and chance. The MGCB stressed that the acceptance of bets with uncertain outcomes is illegal.
Protecting Consumers
