Galaxy Entertainment Group Reports Strong Q1 Performance
Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), known for its presence in Macau’s casino industry, has recently released its first-quarter results, showcasing a steady growth in revenue and EBITDA.
GEG’s Q1 Performance Overview
During the first quarter of the year, Galaxy Entertainment Group recorded a total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) of HKD 10.9 billion ($1.4 billion), marking a 14% increase compared to the previous year. While experiencing a slight decline from the previous quarter due to seasonal factors, the overall figures still reflect the company’s strong market position.
The GGR figure was supported by HKD 8.2 billion ($1 billion) in Mass GGR, HKD 2 billion ($257 million) in VIP GGR, and an increase in Electronic GGR to HKD 729 million ($94 million), all showing year-on-year growth.
Galaxy Entertainment Group’s net revenue for the first quarter totaled HKD 11.2 billion ($1.44 billion), a 6% increase from the previous year but a 1% decrease from the last quarter of 2024.
Furthermore, the company’s adjusted EBITDA reached HKD 3.3 billion ($425 million) in Q1, marking a significant 16% increase from the same period last year and a 2% rise from the previous quarter.
Financial Stability and Investments
GEG emphasized that its financial position remains robust and liquid, with cash and liquid investments amounting to HKD 33 billion ($4.25 billion) as of March 31. This, combined with a strong cash flow, positions Galaxy Entertainment Group to create more value for its shareholders.
