Andrew “Andy” Jenkins Banned and Fined for Match-Fixing and Unauthorized Betting
Andrew “Andy” Jenkins, a renowned English professional darts player in the international circuit, has recently been embroiled in a scandal involving match-fixing and unauthorized betting. The 54-year-old player, also known as “Rocky” for his fierce demeanor, has been a prominent figure in the darts community, with multiple tournament participations and a high ranking within the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).
Match-Fixing Allegations
The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) revealed that Jenkins was implicated in fixing a staggering 12 matches that occurred between February 22, 2022, and July 5, 2023. During a hearing with the DRA Disciplinary Committee, it was disclosed that Jenkins not only fixed games but also shared information about the manipulated matches with sports bettors.

Ban and Fine

In addition, he was handed an 11-year ban from all DRA-sanctioned events, effectively putting an end to his professional darts career. Prior to Jenkins’ ban, another darts professional, Prakash Jiwa, was found guilty of match-fixing and received an eight-year suspension. Unlike Jenkins, Jiwa denied the allegations brought against him, although he had a history of disciplinary issues with the DRA.
In a separate incident in December 2024, the DRA suspended players Leighton Bennett and Billy Warriner for their involvement in match-fixing activities, further highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by regulatory bodies in maintaining the integrity of sports competitions.
